The Story Behind The Jacket :
French novelist, memoirist, and journalist,  Amandine-Lucile- Aurore Dupin, born in Paris in 1804, who took on the pen name , "George Sand" is the muse for this silhouette.  She was one of the many notable 19th-century women who wore male attire in public, often without the required official permit! She lived independently, questioned society and rejected its sexual categories. She was ambitious and career-driven, in a time where only men dominated various fields. Aurore, as she was known to friends, decided she would have it all, too and succeeded in beating heavyweights like Victor Hugo and Honoré de Balzac as far as popularity went. She wrote and spoke about her political views, supporting the poor, working class and women's rights. So when you wear the George Sand jacket, remember to wear it boldly, joyfully and with aplomb!

CRAFT HERITAGE

Ikat is a dyeing technique used to weave patterns into textiles. It uses a technique called resist dyeing, where threads are tied and dyed before weaving. One of the most noticeable and unique attributes of surrounding an Ikat pattern is the blurriness in the design. It can also be considered to be a global design movement that spans across the centuries and originated in Asia. The word “ikat” has Indonesian and Malay roots, roughly translating to mean “tie and bind”.The handloom Ikat fabrics sourced by Ayesha originate from the weaving cluster of Telangana, India.
