Flared Halter Top - Khadi Indigo Blue and White Check
This halter top has a dainty neckline that flares out, adding fullness and movement till the waist. Constructed in a light 100-count handspun handwoven [Khadi] cotton fabric, this top is a classic staple in any wardrobe. Pair it with white shorts or pants for a casual vibe or as a coord set with the Collette Vagabond pant for a more trendy vibe.
This 100-count khadi fabric has been woven using yarn-dyed natural indigo in the Purba Bardhaman weaving cluster of West Bengal, India. The cotton is grown locally and the yarn is dyed with natural indigo that is extracted from the Indigofera tinctoria plant [from the bean family]. Extracting natural indigo is a long and lengthy process and the dye is used for various dyeing and printing techniques.
Supporting and preserving this process of extracting natural dye, sourcing locally grown cotton, yarn dyeing and handloom weaving are important in preserving cultural heritage, providing income opportunities and developing eco-friendly, low carbon footprint options for clothing.
